When I first heard about this project I immediately came up with my idea. I wanted to show the feeling I get when doing my favorite activity, skiing. I will create a timeline of images to a man skiing on a powder day. I will use a lot of light and bright colors to convey a positive feeling. I want to use symbols such as hot chocolate to make the viewer feel like they are experiencing the feeling of a snow day.
My title slide will have two skis running horizontally with the words “POW DAY” displayed on the bottoms. I am going to try and make it look like the words are part of the graphics of the sksi. I then want to start the Zine off with a cabin getting snowed on in the night time. The next slide will have hot chocolate brewing to symbolize the feeling of a fresh snowfall. Then throughout the 5 or so images I will have him riding up a chairlift and then down a cliff and doing tricks. I will use very bright colors to show how happy he is. The next slide will be more abstract, but I want to show a face shot of the skier, but instead of a human face I will use symbols to show how happy he is. He will have suns as eyes, mountains as a nose, and rainbows as lips. My plan is to show that these happy images symbolize his positive feelings while skiing. He will also have goggles that will reflect the mountains behind. I will then finish the Zine by having him watch the sunset by the fireplace to show the end to an incredible day.
