Reading blog 3

This article is a very interesting read because it talks about really important history while staying very relevant. I enjoyed it when the article talked about the importance of Eastern Europe and Russia in the development of making the internet an artistic medium. It is crazy to imagine how different our world would be without the impact of internet art. By having one connected cloud for people from all over the world to connect to we have access to so much unique artwork.

While net.art seems very interesting, I am a little confused on what it looked like in the early stages. It is described as a lot of emails compiled onto one platform, but that leaves me with many questions. I don't understand what their actual artwork really looked like if it was all just emails. While I might not understand the actual artwork as well, the concepts and ideas behind the work are very interesting and impactful.

I really enjoyed learning about some of the female artists creating intricate pieces that went against the social norms of the time. The article made it sound as they were able to pioneer a new way of looking at social issues and how to overcome them.

My final takeaway from this article is how rapidly net art can change from year to year. It started off as a way to advocate for social issues but that was quickly shut down. As the internet continues to evolve, net art becomes more focused on software development to obtain success.
